The Philippines was colonized for almost four centuries and it is still felt in the
present. Neocolonialism is upon the Philippines, manifested in the educational system.
This paper aims to critique neocolonialism through Martin Heidegger Critique on
Modernity. Through this critique, it will reveal the necessary element to liberate the
Filipinos from neocolonialism and hopefully establish an educational system that will
favor the Philippines.
